We use a third party company, MemberMojo, to manage our member database including member applications and renewals. This gives you access to a password protected account to input and manage your contact details. All information entered is covered by the following Privacy Policy.

Membership runs from 1st April until 31st March of each year. 

The memberships categories for 2018/19:

  • Adult One Tennis Playing adult plus any U16 (on 1 April) children for whom you are parent/guardian;
  • Concession Playing member above 65 years on 1 April of renewal year;
  • Student Playing member aged 19 years or older (on 1 April) and in full-time education – proof required;
  • Junior Playing member who is either 16-18 years (on 1 April) OR U16 (on 1 April) if parent/guardian is not (joining as) an Adult member;
  • Social (SO) Non-tennis playing member aged 18 years or above (children in the same household under 8 years (on 1 April) can also be linked to this membership at no extra cost.


All members have to log into their account (HERE) to:

  1. Confirm their wish to renew their membership and agreement with the terms of membership;
  2. Confirm personal details we hold and provide agreement that the club may use their personal data (to cover GPDR – General Personal Data Regulation from May 2018) e.g. newsletter/tournament etc.
  3. Provide their preferred payment method (e.g. direct debit or bank transfer);
  4. Enter the Club Tournament (May to July) and provide doubles partner names (if appropriate).



If you are applying for membership for the first time a Joining Fee (and possible share purchase) is payable as follows:

  • Adult £25.00 OR
  • Junior £10 (no Joining Fee is payable if the Junior is U16 and linked to an Adult parent/guardian member) PLUS
  • £10 for Club shares (by all members aged 18 years or older)

Renewal reminders are sent in March and renewals must be completed by 14th April or membership will expire and access fobs will be deactivated and a rejoining fee will apply.

New members can apply to join the club by completing an online application. New memberships taken out part way through the membership year will still expire the following March 31st. If you would like to apply for more than one adult or junior or combination of membership types for the same household, each membership application should be completed separately and have it’s own email address. All applications are subject to the approval of the Management Committee and all applicants agree to abide by the club rules. The club may sometimes operate a waiting list and new applications will be approved on a first come, first served basis.

Terms of Membership – please read and accept by ticking the box when you renew/complete your membership application

All members are bound by the Club rules.

Once you have paid/renewed your membership, there are no court fees for members but there is a court fee for guests.

Floodlights can be used free of charge and are available until 21:00 on courts 1-4. Please remember to turn off the floodlights after use.

Correct tennis attire and in particular tennis shoes must be worn.
Court time is limited to 1 hour if the courts are full and people are waiting to play. Please take this rule into account when playing tournament and box league matches at busy times and consider playing tie breaks at 5-5 to help free up courts at busy times.

All members (and their guests) are asked to show appropriate consideration to other players and be respectful of neighbouring houses whilst playing. Please keep court noise to a minimum.

Adult Members take precedence over Juniors on court after 1900 on weekdays.

There are no court fees for members. If you wish to bring a guest, they must be signed in the guest book – please note the guest fees are £5.00 per adult or £3.00 per junior and they should either be handed to a committee member or put in the “Guest Fees” honesty box & Signing in Book which are located next to the “floodights” switch panel.

The same visitor can only play at the club 3 times per membership year (1st April – 31st March).

Members are responsible for their guests at all time, Guests must be signed in and guest fees must be paid in advance.

Members should provide their own Tennis Balls which can be purchased from the club bar. The club only provide free tennis balls for social sessions and Finals day.

Members are encouraged to become BTM (British Tennis Members) on the LTA website. BTM Membership is free to GLTC members and Members should select GLTC as a “Venue to Play”. LTA dues (included in Full Members’ subscriptions) are passed directly to the Lawn Tennis Association and bring various benefits to the Club, including reduced fee consultation, allocation of All England tournament tickets each year and entry to the Sunday League inter-club competitions.

“Neither the Club nor any officer thereof shall be liable to any member or guest of a member or any other person for any loss of or damage to any property occurring, from whatever cause, in or about the Club premises; nor for any injury sustained by any member or guest or any other person whilst on or entering or leaving the Club premises”.

Shares. Friendly Society regulations state that each adult member (aged 18 or over) should hold one share in the Club. The £1 share has applied since the Club was registered as a Friendly Society in 1928. To adjust share subscription to current values, all new adult members and fulltime students must purchase at least ten shares of £1-00 each when joining the Club. The maximum that may be purchased by any one member is £1,000. Shares must be purchased in multiples of ten, ie. £10-00, £20-00 etc. Any member may purchase additional shares at any time by applying in writing to the Club. No interest, dividend or bonus shall be payable on any share.
Any Member who ceases to be a Member of the Club for whatever reason can within two years of the date of cessation return his/her shares in the Club to the Secretary who will arrange a refund of the amount subscribed less any subscriptions or other payments due to the Club. The shares of a Member which have not been returned to the Secretary pursuant to the foregoing shall be forfeited to the Club and any amount then due to the Member in respect of such share shall thereupon become the property of the Club.
